Turning Agricultural Challenges

into Sustainable

Opportunities.

We offer a specialized service designed to meet your needs and objectives in agriculture. We are here to provide technical guidance and advice that will optimize agricultural production and promote sustainable farming practices. Our commitment encompasses a range of activities, including detailed diagnostics, precise recommendations, and the efficient implementation of operational processes on your farm. Count on us to help you achieve the full potential of your production and ensure a sustainable future for your agricultural activity.

"You cannot manage what you do not measure, you cannot measure what you do not define, you cannot define what you do not understand, and there is no success in what you do not manage." William Edwards Deming

Intelligent, georeferenced diagnostics are conducted for the soil’s chemical attributes (macro- and micronutrients), physical attributes (texture and compaction), and biological attributes (enzymatic activity and nematodes). It is determined how each of these factors is limiting production (soil key performance indicators – Soil KPIs), and recommendations are generated (fertilization, correction, and management) aimed at promoting greater balance among these factors, consequently resulting in higher productivity.

Good diagnostics lead to good recommendations. This is why Prisma currently invests in technical expertise, technologies, and precision agriculture tools to better define clients’ productivity yield gaps and detect the variability of these attributes within the farm. In addition, we are concerned with the farm’s operational quality and, therefore, we are present at every operational stage. This includes operator training, adjustment and calibration of agricultural implements, and the parameterization of operations, aiming for efficiency and the adoption of good agricultural practices.

What Prisma did:
  • Electrical Conductivity: Soil diagnostics, studies of productivity-limiting factors, and definition of management zones.
  • Topographic surveys (precise measurement of planted usable area), processing of yield maps, and assessment of productivity patches; targeted agronomic recommendations; operator training and qualification: spraying, harvesting, planting, solid spreaders, and tractor balancing; field audits and assessments (Operational Quality).
What Vale Rio did:
Fertility management: liming; soil-applied micronutrient supplementation; gypsum application; soil correction + maintenance; land shaping (contour lines) and subsoiling in critical plots; composting; people management; cultural practices via the planting furrow (biologicals); new equipment; and improved palatability.
What comes next:
Monitoring the evolution of productivity-limiting factors. Cultural management with cover crops (mix) in the system: increasing soil carbon, increasing organic matter and soil biology to improve potential productivity and reduce the risk of decline associated with climatic factors. Data-driven management and evaluation of efficiency and operational quality. Implementation of Digital Agriculture.
Today, the two most important things to understand on the farm—and that the producer/manager cannot do alone—are: how to understand your soil profile, that is, below the plant collar and its variables; and the management of your machinery fleet, which is how to extract maximum efficiency from your machines and implements with trained and qualified operators, raising the quality and performance of the activity carried out.
